The Nibley Children's Theatre is excited to announce our 40th Year! Our first show, The Selfish Giant was presented in 1983 with a handful of local children. Over the years, thousands of children have grown up on this stage, have found a voice in the crowd, and have gained confidence and courage through their experiences here. Today we still have many people in our community who were in some of those first shows, and now watch their own children enjoy the uplifting experiences of singing, dancing and acting.
This year we will be presenting Sister Wishes written and directed by Marianne Hale
Once upon a time, two sisters lived and worked together and dreamed of very different things. Maggie was a smart, talented girl with a desire to make life better, and Joy was a kind, generous girl with a love for the life she already had.
But one kind deed for the queen of the fairies changes everything for them.
With songs taken from American folk music, the sisters sing their way through misadventures, involving a kind king, an adventure seeking shepherd and his musical sheep, some very loyal guardsmen, sarcastic siblings, and plotting advisors, while learning a powerful lesson about making your own happily ever after.
Open to all NIBLEY CITY RESIDENTS (you must live in Nibley) age 5 (going into Kindergarten) up to age 18 (graduated seniors welcome).
During this two week program, your child will learn at least one song and dance, how to perform on stage, and will have a lot of fun!
This program is Free, we just ask that each family volunteer their time in helping make costumes, lead groups, craft, create scenery, etc. A minimum of 4 hours.... (See the Volunteer Information tab for more info.)
